Think about how much you love music. Don’t you think life would be far more colourful if we sang our emotions? Conveyed our thoughts, hopes, fears, ambitions, prayers, anger, despair and what have you, through song? Well societal norms don’t think so, which leaves us with plain ol’ talkin’. Fortunately, musicals give us what reality can’t. THAT is why I love musicals, and I’m sure it’s why you do too.

The passion for musicals that duchessofwords and I share is what inspired this blog. We hope you enjoy this homage to all things musical and theatrical, and we invite you to bask in all the wonderfully bizarre situations that musicals present. In the cryptic words of the Phantom, “I bid you welcome…”

Some Tidbits About My Musical Interests:

>Favourite “Musical Trouble” Thus Far:

#5 (which duchessofwords came up with even though I posted it). I love it because if I were in a musical, I’m sure that’s EXACTLY the kind of crap I would have to endure.

>Favourite Musical:

If you ABSOLUTELY FORCED me to pick JUST ONE, it would have to be: *GASPS* Phantom of the Opera. But Les Miserables is the closest 2nd of all the close 2nds in the world. And don’t even get me started on Disney musicals.

>Favourite Phantom of the Opera Song:

“Wandering Child/Bravo, Monsieur,” because my soul literally soars when Christine, Raoul and the Phantom/Erik sing as one.

>Favourite Musical Actor (at the Present Time):

Ramin Karimloo. Just saw Phantom of the Opera: 25th Anniversary, and he was brilliant. [To clarify, I saw it in theatres and not at the RAH, to my NEVER-ENDING SADNESS]

Most Unrealistic Musical Fantasy:

Performing a song & dance sequence with Gene Kelly.

>Non-Musical Interests:

MANY & I’m far too lazy to list them all here. If you are so inclined, check out my other blog for a general glimpse of the things I like. [See the link above]
